GeoNight2021 in Bulgaria: Online presentations & Photo competition
Short presentation of the event: The Bulgarian Geographical Society (BGS) in cooperation with the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIGGG-BAS) ant the Faculty of Geology and Geography – Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (FGG-SU) is organizing a branch of online events to promote the geographic knowledge and science in Bulgaria.
“GeoNight2021 in Bulgaria” is part of a series of events between 19 March – 22 April called “Ishirkov’s days” (Ishirkovi dni=Иширкови дни). The name of this period comes from the family name of academician Anastas Ishirkov (1868-1937) who was the founder of the geographical science in Bulgaria and first Chair of the Bulgarian Geographical Society after its establishment in 1918.
During the GeoNight2021 scientists will present their latest projects and work in attempt to show the cool part of Geo Sciences. Key topics of the presentations will be Earthquakes; Air, Water & soil pollution; Ethno-demographic problems; and Natural heritage.
During the GeoNight2021 the organizers will announce results from a photo competition for geographic photo taken by night.
