Discovering Madagascar

Description:

Eighth grade students and other interested students will have a thematic lesson dedicated to Madagascar. The lecture, with a PowerPoint presentation, video and demonstration, will be given by a colleague who recently returned from a tourist trip in which she visited Madagascar. We will incorporate the topic into the Geography curriculum within the unit dedicated to Africa. Students will be able to learn firsthand about the natural-geographical and socio-geographical features of this island African country full of uniqueness.

 

Main objectives:

The student analyzes the natural-geographical and socio-geographical characteristics of Africa using the example of Madagascar.
The student analyzes and explains selected problems of contemporary development in Africa using the example of Madagascar.
The student explains the diversity of the African population by analyzing individual structures, identifies the problems that arise from this, and builds a positive and tolerant relationship towards other cultural communities while respecting diversity.
