Mapas en la era digital: cartografía de riesgos de inundación en el sureste de la Península Ibérica

Attendees will be introduced to the basic concepts of digital geographic information management. For this purpose, OGC services of the National Floodplain Mapping System, IGN services (PNOA, MTN25) and Cadastre services will be used, as well as files such as cadastre in the study area. For this, we will use an online platform, free and easy to use (for example ArcGIS Online). The work will be done in a computer classroom of the University of Murcia or through online connection. The objective is that attendees learn what is automatic mapping through the basic handling of overlapping layers, cartographic compositions, etc., and its usefulness (and the usefulness of the geographer as an expert on this subject, the natural hazards and their ability to assess in an integrated manner such phenomena.
Main objectives:
To introduce and approach the general public, and specifically students of ESO and Bachillerato, to the aspects related to geography within the framework of Geographic Information Science.
To introduce this public in a friendly way to the fundamental concepts of risks and vulnerability of climatic origin due to flood risks.
