Protected Past for a better Future
Description:
This year, the students of Marjan Elementary School will mark Geonight through a series of activities in the school area, the nearest protected natural site, Marjan Forest Park. In collaboration with the Public Institution Marjan Forest Park, we will visit targeted sites (natural and cultural heritage) to explore hidden locations, vegetation, and the geological basis of the Marjan Park Forest. Through various activities, students will raise awareness about the need for systematic biodiversity conservation and the protection of traditional architecture in one of Split’s rare protected natural oases. The youngest members of our community are becoming promoters of ecological sustainability, environmental care, fostering affection for nature, and working towards the preservation of this important area for our community.
