Educational hike along the banks of the Neris river “Coliving with nature for centuries…”

Description:

During the walk along the bank of Neris river, we will talk about famous Lithuanian geographers who contributed to the enrichment of knowledge about the Neris River and its valley, about the shape and geodiversity of the Antakalnis hills, about springs, streams and parks that disappeared during the times and enlargement of city, the palaces of Vileišiai and Sluškai. We will discuss whether it is relevant for the capital to preserve more green spaces and wooden architecture and invite to know more, to protect and cherish the city’s landscapes – both from an ecological and aesthetic point of view.

 

Main objectives:

To introduce citizens with more knowledge about Neris river valley and encourage to cherish the natural and cultural heritage of Lithuanian capital, its landscape and the reminiscence of Lithuanian geographers.
