“Geografía para Todas: Maratón de Pódcast”, es una iniciativa que busca promover la geografía y difundir la disciplina entre públicos diversos. Este evento tendrá lugar el 4 de abril en el Aula Magna de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras II de la Universidad de Alicante, con una grabación en directo entre las 9h. y las 16h.

Mª Jesús Cabezón Fernández y Samuel Ortíz Pérez, miembros del Departamento de Geografía Humana, presentarán el pódcast conversacional, donde abordarán el valor de la Geografía para la sociedad entrevistando a geógrafas y geógrafos especializados en distintas áreas de la disciplina. Dos preguntas comunes a todas ellas serán: ¿Qué aporta la Geografía a la sociedad? y ¿Qué salidas profesionales tiene este ámbito de la Geografía?

A lo largo de la mañana nos acompañarán en torno a veinte profesionales de la Geografía para hablar de temas como el Turismo de naturaleza o la turistificación, el Desarrollo Local, la Biogeografía, el Urbanismo Feminista, las Migraciones o la Geopolítica, entre otras temáticas. También nos acompañarán profesores y estudiantes de secundaria desde tres centros educativos de la provincia, y estudiantes del Grado en Geografía y Ordenación del Territorio de la UA, que charlarán sobre su experiencia en como estudiantes del Grado y serán nuestros “enviados espaciales” por el campus de la UA.

El maratón de pódcast será emitido en directo vía streaming y posteriormente estará disponible en el canal de YouTube de la facultad (Vértice), así como en la página web del grupo de investigación: Geopolítica: Estudios Interdisciplinares sobre Migraciones, Conflictos Regionales y Cooperación / GEOPOLÍTICA: Estudios Interdisciplinares sobre Migraciones, Conflictos Territoriales y Cooperación (GECOTEMI).

Tras el evento, el maratón se editará para que cada sección temática pueda accederse de forma independiente con fines educativos o para una mayor difusión del conocimiento geográfico.

Description:

The “Geography for All: Podcast Marathon” is an initiative aimed at promoting geography and expanding awareness of the discipline among diverse audiences. This event will take place on April 4 in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Alicante, featuring a live podcast from 9h. to 16h.

Mª Jesús Cabezón Fernández and Samuel Ortíz Pérez, members of the Human Geography Department will host the conversational podcast in which they will approach the value of Geography to society by interviewing geographers from several disciplines. Two questions common to all of them will be: What does Geography contribute to society? and What career opportunities does this field of Geography offer?

Throughout the morning, we will be joined by around twenty geography professionals to discuss topics such as nature tourism and touristification, local development, biogeography, feminist urban planning, migration, and geopolitics, among other topics. We will also be joined by secondary school teachers and students from three schools in the province, and students of the Degree in Geography and Spatial Planning at the UA, who will talk about their experience as students of the Degree and will be our “space envoys” on the UA campus.

The podcast will be broadcast live via video streaming and later made available on the faculty’s YouTube channel as well as the website of the research group: Geopolitics: Interdisciplinary Studies on Migrations, Regional Conflicts and Cooperation / GEOPOLÍTICA: Estudios Interdisciplinares sobre Migraciones, Conflictos Territoriales y Cooperación (GECOTEMI)

After the event, the marathon will be edited so that each thematic section can be accessed independently for educational purposes or wider dissemination of geographical knowledge.
