Description:

Geographical walk along the Neris river right bank in Vilnius is an educational excursion, guided by professional landscape geographer. This event is focused on the river valley landscape features of 3 different urban landscapes: city center, extensively built up residential area and the nature reserve. It is the good opportunity to speak about the river hydro and geomorphology, water use, treatment and multiple river role in urban area, nature protection and urban planning, the idea of shipping. During this walk we will commemorate famous Lithuanian landscape geographers and hydrologists too.

Main objectives:

To provide geographical information about the Neris river in Vilnius city and geographers, which works are dedicated to landscape geography in Lithuania, Vilnius. To have good experience of different landscapes along the river valley. To proclaim Lithiuanian geographical society and Lithuanian geographers
