Society and the Rural Environment: Geography through a Photography
Description:
The competition, which is open to the general public, will consist of the presentation of a photograph in digital format that fits the theme of the competition: “Society and the Rural Environment: Geography through a photograph”. Photographs may be submitted, for example, related to agricultural landscapes, agricultural and livestock activities, rural society, work, traditions and culture, etc., from any part of Europe.
The photograph (unpublished and original) must have been taken between 1 January 2023 and 1 April 2024. Together with the photograph, it is compulsory to attach a text containing: the title that the author proposes for the photograph, the place and date of the photograph, a short text describing the image and highlighting the importance of the rural world, and the author’s figures (name and surname, postal address, e-mail and contact telephone number). All entries will be sent to the following e-mail address (fjsegura@ugr.es) with the subject: GeoNight Photo Contest
The deadline for sending and participating will be Monday 1 April at 23:59h. The participating photographs will be judged by the organizers of this activity on the basis of the originality of the image and the content of the description or comment made by the author. The winning photograph will be revealed in a small virtual session held on the morning of 5 April, for which the time and link are attached below. The winner will receive a small gift.
Descripción:
El concurso, abierto al público en general, consistirá en la presentación de una fotografía en formato digital que se ajuste al tema del concurso: “Sociedad y Medio Rural: La geografía a través de una fotografía”. Podrán presentarse fotografías, por ejemplo, relacionadas con paisajes agrarios, actividades agrícolas y ganaderas, sociedad rural, trabajo, tradiciones y cultura, etc., de cualquier parte de Europa.
La fotografía (inédita y original) deberá haber sido tomada entre el 1 de enero de 2023 y el 1 de abril de 2024. Junto con la fotografía, es obligatorio adjuntar un texto que contenga: el título que el autor propone para la fotografía, el lugar y la fecha de la fotografía, un breve texto que describa la imagen y destaque la importancia del mundo rural, y los datos del autor (nombre y apellidos, dirección postal, correo electrónico y teléfono de contacto). Todo ello será enviado al siguiente correo electrónico (fjsegura@ugr.es) con el asunto: GeoNight Concurso Fotográfico.
La fecha límite para el envío y participación será el lunes 1 de abril a las 23:59h. La fotografías participantes serán valoradas por los organizadores de esta actividad atendiendo a la originalidad de la imagen y al contenido de la descripción o comentario que realice el autor/a. El fallo con la fotografía ganadora será revelado en una pequeña sesión virtual celebrada el día 5 de abril por la mañana, para la que se adjunta hora y enlace más abajo. El ganador o ganadora recibirá un pequeño obsequio.
Objectives:
To give value to the rural environment, to give importance to agricultural activities and landscapes, to educate in socio-cultural values, to debate about the future of our territories in relation to the current environmental crisis and the mobilisations of farmers that are currently taking place.
