Description:

The guest of Geography Night at our school will be cameraman Alan Šimunović, who participated in the ascent of Kilimanjaro with the Croatian expedition. The film was made about it.
He will talk about everything that preceded the ascent, but also the experiences that followed the mountaineers and the entire expedition. He will share what they have seen and experienced with our students, and he will also answer on their questions.

Objectives:

The film can provide students with a real and dynamic insight into the geographical characteristics of Kilimanjaro, including its location, relief, climate and ecology. A discussion on the global diversity of mountains and ecosystems can be encouraged. In addition to the geographical aspects, the film can also present the cultural dimension of travel. Teachers can encourage discussion about the ethnic groups in the region, local culture and customs, contributing to the understanding of the world outside their own environment. The film can encourage a love of nature and outdoor activities. Teachers can use events like this to encourage students to explore natural beauty and the importance of preserving the environment.
