16th seminar Josip Roglić
Description:
Theme of the seminar is interdisciplinarity in Geography and connection of Geography to other sciences. According to the new curriculum in Croatia, Geography is, in its essence, of integrative character and thus has a special place in the science system as a bridge science. Better said, it is a link between natural and social areas. In its researches, it uses knowledge from humanistic and technical fields of study. Geography is thus the only one in the educational system which holistically teaches about the complexity of spaces and its identity. It is based on philosophy and logistics of space, it is directed towards a better life quality and a more efficient life, but it also looks at a long-term sustainable acting.
