On this Geography Night, the Lithuanian State Service for Protected Areas wants to offer a chance to explore the National Visitor’s Center of Protected Areas, explore protected areas geographically, and present a special topic on dark-sky preserves. Dark-sky preserves are protected areas that make a particular commitment to protect and preserve the night, reducing or eliminating light pollution in all forms. Such areas are established for the conservation of the natural landscape, visual pollution and biodiversity.
