Country: Croatia (Hrvatska) – City: Zagreb – Address: Klaićeva 7
Description:
Extreme weather events increasingly affect all parts of the energy system. The most important changes include an increase in average and extreme air and water temperatures, changes in available water quantities, the risk of floods and other dangers related to the consequences of climate change. Such changes will affect the availability of primary energy sources, especially renewable energy sources, as well as the conversion, transmission or transport, distribution and storage of energy and the demand for energy. In order to reduce the emission of negative impacts on the environment and encourage sustainable development, it is important to achieve energy sustainability. That is why the term energy efficiency refers to a series of plans and measures whose purpose is to use the minimum amount of energy while maintaining the same quality and efficiency. The lecture will be interactive, in which students will learn about the activities that have the greatest effect on increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases, they will analyze based on the data of the countries that are the largest producers of greenhouse gases, they will discuss how the production and consumption of energy affects climate change and whether there are the positive consequences of climate change on the energy system, they will learn about the importance of energy efficiency in the use of renewable energy sources, transport, sustainable construction, etc. They will discuss the importance of using renewable energy sources and take a position on their use. The Physics teacher, in the workshop, will explain the importance and types of energy in everyday life and how we depend on numerous sources of energy.
