Myths about water uses and drought
The event will be: “Live” (if allowed by the covid rules, otherwise it will be online)
Short presentation of the event: Our proposal is to discuss some basic numbers and maps in relation to the uses of water and the existence of droughts in Spain, so that we can deconstruct some well-established myths. We will do this activity next to the Guadalquivir River, using a geographical perspective that helps us understand why those myths are still alive today.

Objectives: The main goal is to improve the knowledge around the causes and consequences of the current uses of water in Spain. We want the participants to understand what Geography can offer to the study of the relationships between water and the territory, and to develop an informed view on the current drought Spain is undergoing. We want students to develop an interest in geographical and socio-environmental analysis.
