Short presentation of the event: The Webinar ‘Local governance of the Urban Night Time’, organized by the IGU Commission on the Geography of Governance, in the context of the 6th Edition of the GEONIGHT – April 1, 2022, seeks to explore and to discuss the role of local government in the governance of the urban night life in different cities. It will comprise 6 oral presentations by researchers working on these issues followed by an open conversation with the participants. Participation in the Webinar is free and is open to the public.
Objectives: With this Webinar the IGU Commission Geography of Governance aims to expand our understanding of the emerging issues related to the urban night time, and how through that Geography of Governance can contribute to public policies. At the same time, the event is one more opportunity for the public to become more familiarized with research done on local governance issues. It aims to bring together researchers, geographers and other social scientists, and people outside academia, from different countries.
